Talet

Mitt kritikerrosade tal som framfördes på engelskan läggs nu upp till allmän beskådning för att Tove ville se det.

Here are some basic facts for you. The universe is commonly believed to have been created about 13 to 14 billion years ago by the so called “Big Bang”. For more than 160 million years dinosaurs were the dominant species of the earth. Humans have evolved from monkeys. All humans are equal in value. Global warming is a dangerous threat to earth.
That’s pretty obvious, right? But believe it or not, a surprisingly large amount of people refuse to believe this. Instead they firmly believe that the world was created in a couple of days only a few thousand years ago, that evolution is total nonsense just like global warming, that science haven’t proven anything and that certain members of our society, like homosexuals, are evil disgusting people that the world is better off without. Oh yeah, and Harry Potter is the work of Satan.

How exactly can they be so sure of this? Quiet simply, because the Bible says so.
And even though the Bible is known to contradict itself, having been written by many different people over a long period of time, questioning the Holy Book is considered ridiculous. You think I’m exaggerating? Then listen to this quote by Ted Haggard, the founder and former head of New Life Church: “We've decided the Bible is the word of God. We don't have to have a General Assembly about what we believe. It's written in the Bible. Alright, so we don't have to debate what we think about homosexual activity. It's written in the Bible.” In other words, don’t think for yourself. Let an almost 2000-year old book think for you. Ingenious, right? And I should probably mention that Ted Haggard was caught in a drugs-and-gay sex scandal in November 2006.

There are also some people that literally go around and tell people that they are going to spend an eternity in the fiery depths of hell, being submitted to the most horrible disgusting torturous pain and agony simply because they have the audacity to swear or sleep long on Saturdays or masturbate. These people also believe that whenever anything bad happens to people that’s just good, because it’s “God’s punishment”. That’s funny; I seem to recall that punishment is carried out in hell. They should really make up their minds. And what’s really ironic and frustrating is that they seem to have forgotten that Christianity is largely based of the teachings of a certain Jesus Christ. Has anyone heard of him? Well, if not, I can tell you that he preached about kindness, forgiveness and tolerance. I don’t understand how he could be misinterpreted so badly by these religious nut heads. I’m actually curious about how he would react to these religious extremists if he got too see them. Well, whatever the reason is for their ignorance, they are certainly not going to better themselves anytime soon as they teach their children the same moronic things that they have been taught by their parents. And these children will no doubt brainwash their children in a similar manner. It will indeed go on forever if you let it.

After listening to this you may think that I despise all kinds of religion, but I don’t. I can assure you that I do respect the faith and beliefs of millions of Christians, Muslims, Hinduisms, Buddhists, Jews and all other religions. I just get really pissed off by these idiots who seem to think that you either go their way or you deserve to die and burn in the realm of Satan. In fact, Mahatma Ghandi once said something that I think sums up my point pretty well. “I like you Christ. I don’t like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike you Christ.” Thank you for listening, I’ll see you in hell.
